Mummy!

Mummy!

Not many 55 year old’s can do what my mother has just done. After 3 years of studying at the university she is now finished.  I am so proud of her! As a university student myself, I know how stressful and difficult it can be, so the fact that she has done really well through all the 3 years is a great accomplishment. Plus, while my mother has been studying she has also worked full time. That is not an easy task! She is now a fully credited teacher, and I couldn’t be more proud. Go my mum! I hope that she finds a new job that will be satisfying and challenging.

In Sweden, we generally have pretty good service, in England it is shit. (Pardon my french) I don’t understand why people think that English people are so friendly and very service minded. That is one of the biggest lies about Britain. Then, you got to Japan and things are on a TOTALLY different level. The way I was treated at that hair salon I have never ever been treated using a service before. I was there for 1,5 hours! Just to get my hair cut. They gave me a special hair conditioner treatment and an amazing back/neck massage. I was also given some tea, they had a drink menu of different beverages I could choose from. At the end, two people were blow drying my hair. Two people, apparently one isn’t enough 😉 They were very friendly and gave great service, I will definitely go back there. I paid the same price as I would do back home!

Tuesday, some of the professors and my bosses held interviews for the job of a new English teacher. Jelani and I got to greet and meet the candidates, and it was rather interesting. When all the interviews were over we were asked by the professors and the bosses what our opinions were. It was nice that they wanted to know what we felt because we got  to meet these candidates and chat with them before the others did.  In the end, all of us thought that the same person should get the position.  This woman seems really nice and energetic, and I am looking forward to start working with her.

Have a good one!

When I am not working I am playing Gaelic football for Japan GAA, travel, enjoying amazing food, and just spend time with the people I like and appreciate. I am a travel addict and global citizen. I am here to create a new path and to cause a stir. Foreign politics, international development, and human rights questions makes me fired up and motivated to strive for a better world.
